Room 117 had a really, really fun time today on our 100th day! We designed a 100 day picture, we did activities in our "100 days of school" book, we designed a pizza with 100 toppings, and we did activities/ exercises in 100 seconds. We also predicted how many steps it would take to get to certain places in the school, and then counted how many steps it took.
We also dressed as if we were 100 year olds! Each of the first graders that dressed up looked really cute! See our pictures below from our very fun day! We hope that everyone enjoyed their 100th day of school last week! Room 117 read 100 books, created 100th day crowns, had a "hibernation celebration" (since it was the day after Groundhog Day), and wrote about what we would do when we are 100 years old! See the pictures below of all of the fun we had (More pictures will also be posted in the future). Room 117 is also featured in the Brodnicki School Blog, called, "Bulldog Days". Check it out! http://bulldogdays.weebly.com/1/post/2014/02/100-reasons-why-we-love-brodnicki-school.html This Is What We'll Look Like At 100 Years Old!!....Making our 100th Day "Crazy" Hats! We're 100 days smarter!!Welcome to the third quarter, first graders! This school year is flying by (probably because of all of the fun we're having) and we are almost at our 100th day of school!
Thursday, January 30 will be our 100th day of school, and we have many fun activities planned! Before we get to our 100th day of school, your child will be bringing home their second quarter report card. At this time of the school year (mid-year), your child should be able to:
Please remember that you are welcome to check your child's progress on the parent side of our online gradebook, "PowerSchool". You child's username and password will be sent home again with their second quarter report card. We have many fun activities coming up:
Early February 2013, Room 117 first graders were full of excitement! It was Brodnicki School's 100th Day of School! All first graders were able to participate in a full day of fun activities: estimating what they could do in 100 seconds, write 100 words, describe what they would look like at 100 years old, color a mystery picture using a 100 chart, and more! We also paired our 100th day with a "Winter Hibernation" celebration in honor of Groundhog Day! All first graders found their area of the room that they wanted to hibernate in with their blanket and snack! Next, they each had the opportunity to see how many books they could read from their own collection and from our classroom library. Our class goal? To read 100 books, of course!Look below to see how much fun was had on this special day! |
